"First we take a scented core (6 point star) and dip it into various colors to create nice blends. Afterwards one of our Artisans cuts and carves it using special tools to create wonderful and truly eye beholding candles. They are 100 % Hand Crafted and scented.

Charcoal Candles

via Spoon & Tamago "Japanese designer Eisuke Tachikawa, who runs the design firm Nosigner, is currently in Paris where he is unveiling several new works at the major French trade show Maison et Objet. Working with one of his favorite themes of memory, Tachikawa has created a candle modeled from, and blended with, charcoal. The design harkens back to days before electricity when our ancestors would burn charcoal to pass the dark nights."

"What looks like an image of a beagle is actually a high definition photograph of a 4’ by 1 ½’ board covered in 221,184 nonpareils sprinkles. At a distance of 16 feet, the sprinkles blur, tricking the human eye into believing that it is looking at a large photograph. Only when you closely examine the work do you realize that it has been created entirely with tiny spheres of candy."
